| ChemCert Farm Chemical User Course |

ChemCert 'Farm Chemical User Course' is a two-day nationally recognised training program. It provides farmers & employees with the skills and knowledge to manage all aspects of chemical transportation, storage, application and record keeping in line with the present regulatory requirements of Agricultural chemicals.
It meets the training requirements for chemical users under the NSW Pesticides Act and most quality assurance programs and is recognised by the NSW Environment Protection Agency for chemical users.
Successful participants receives a plastic accreditation card that is individually numbered, valid for 5 years. Each 5 years they are required to participate in a refresher course to keep their accreditation.
Objectives
ChemCert aims to provide chemical users with the knowledge and skills to achieve established national industry competencies thus ensuring these products are used safely, accurately and efficiently.
Competencies Achieved
The course is assessed at AQF Level 3.
- Level 1 - RTC1701A - Follow basic chemical safety rules
- Level 2 - RTC2706A - Apply chemicals under supervision
- Level 3 - RTC3705A - Transport, handle and store chemicals
- Level 3 - RTC3704A - Prepare and apply chemicals

The course is recommended for those who apply pesticides:
- as part of any commercial agricultural and farming operation, including broadacre farming, horticulture, livestock, market gardening, flower growing, plant nurseries or activities such as fumigating silos or laying baits
- as a landlord or on behalf of a landlord
- for a local council, government agency or statutory authority
- to a golf course, sporting field or bowling green
- as part of aquaculture and forestry operations
- as part of a business, (e.g. a marina, landscape gardening or wood preservation)
